Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across theatre and on television. she continues that award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who brought us Hamilton, will direct the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. In two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway performances. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver is now based between Los Angeles and New York.
